Abstract

The inquiry method is a student-centered learning approach in the process of education with the concept of students who are actively engaged in the teaching and learning activity under the monitoring and supervision of a teacher. Questions are a useful way to learn, which involves the act of contacting the natural or material world, and the questions that go on ask, and testing those discoveries in the search for new understanding. This article encompasses this teaching methodology concerning the life and practices of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) in the backdrop of the historical perspective of the early days of Islam. It also sheds light on how the Prophet (Peace be upon him) actively and spontaneously used this teaching technique to effectively inculcate into his companions the core teachings of Islam as a religion.
